It was key to achieve a finish which was both aesthetically pleasing but also extremely durable, so we opted for using Fenix, an Italian high pressured laminate, across the cabinetry frontals, with touches of solid oak, and birch ply internals, all pleasing to the eye as well as hardwaring.

We designed the long run of cabinetry parallel to the island, aiding the flow through to the living space and out onto the garden. The clients opted for a sophisticated shade of grey in the Fenix, with Plank Hardware brass handles, topping it off with a Calacatta Dorado worktop with a waterfall edge, which results in a beautifully modern, clean appearance.

One of the highlights for us is the oak edging coming through into the island with this oak slatted shadow gap panel.

The oak slatted design flows through to this kitchen from the entrance hall, where we designed these entrance cupboard doors to keep at bay outerware essentials. And then, the Fenix was also used throughout the boot room, where the bronze Corston handles are a perfect match.

These materials were a delight to work with on this project, delivering a sleek, easy feel and look to this ambitious project where we feel we’ve met our aim to mix function with the art of design to help make the heart of this new home feel special.
